The Blacksmith

And The SHEEPHERDER’S DAUGHTER

BY MYRON FERDIG

1845 – New Mexico Territory – A savage attack on a family of sheep-herding immigrants leaves ten year old Molly Broderick the only survivor.

She is brought into the nearby village of Warm Springs and adopted by Jason and Geraldine Turnbill. In the five years since her rescue, we find Molly an inquisitive, precocious, energetic, fifteen year old. She is mentored by several residents of this wilderness community — among them Jake, the saloon owner; Doc Ford; Mr. Royston the banker; Margaret the general store owner; and especially the Blacksmith, Uncle Buzz.

Our adventure wends its way through the lives of these folks and others as Molly grows into a mature young lady. An exciting, action-filled “Y A” story for all ages to enjoy. Happy reading!

Know The Author

Myron Ferdig

My first attempts at writing included short stories, poems and songs, of which there were many. My first full-length book, A Lad From Sardiniawas written and self-published on a whim in 2015; today, at 79, I have eight books published, with more to come. I hope to have my ninth — the third in the Gumshoe and Fox series — available by my 80th birthday in December.

Crime stories all have ‘good versus evil’ plots — mine bring strong moral or Christian ethic underpinnings into view; I try to make the characters come alive, to be believable showing their struggles and hardships as well as victories.

I hope my creations — all PG — will have an appeal to all age groups and worthy of shelf space in your library

Let’s talk about professional sports — specifically football (U.S.), (though it could be Baseball, Basketball, Hockey or Soccer) and even more specifically, the wages of players.
