A Ranger’s Tale

Historical Fiction — Story of Texas Rangers coming into being in the Republic of Texas– and one week of action, terror, and mayhem revolving around the fictional town of Brisbie in North-east Texas. Seems a meeting was called to order in Brisbie, attended by Rangers Jeb Witherspoon, Squire Daniels, Harlan Franklin and a few others — and while they are sitting in a saloon discussing different responsibilities, crimes are being committed — including the kidnapping of Witherspoon’s wife. A group of his confederates join him to give chase. Unfortunately, the kidnappers were leading the rangers into Indian territory — more specifically the Kiowa. The twists in the storyline rival the twists of the trail. An enjoyable read for western fans, and some interesting historical factoids of which folks may not be aware.
